Chaplain Mary Cat’s maternity leave updates and info

The summer has been a restful and fruitful one as plans were being discerned and set in place to care for the Canterbury Downtown community and ministry while Chaplain Mary Cat and husband Chad prepare to welcome their first child to the Young Family in late September!

I am thrilled to announce that a wonderful team will care for Canterbury Downtown in my absence which could begin as early as mid September, or as late as the first week of October (officially due on September 28).

Chaplain Mark has spent the last four years serving NYU Abu Dhabi students in the Wellness Center and supporting spiritual life programs there.  He is glad to be returning to NYC where he will serve as the new Chaplain at Grace Church School, and to spend time with Canterbury Downtown on Sunday evenings.  Students will be able to reach Mark using the regular Canterbury email and phone number during Mary Cat’s maternity leave.

Introducing: Anne Marie Roderick

Anne Marie is currently a 3rd Year student at Union Theological Seminary.  She is active in the Young Adult Network in the Diocese of New York and attends St. Michael’s Episcopal Church. She is excited to serve as assistant to the Chaplain for the 2014-2015 year, and will be a regular presence at Grace Church on Sunday evenings and Night Prayers on Wednesdays throughout the academic year.

Abby is a returning student at NYU (sophomore) who will be assisting with communications and writing projects for Canterbury Downtown this fall. This summer she interned with Wallingford Community Theatre in her Connecticut hometown.  She will be a great addition to the team that will keep you informed about upcoming events and opportunities to connect with Canterbury Downtown!
