Helping after the Hurricane

How can you be a part of the relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Sandy?

Connect with volunteer opportunities in the Diocese of New York and the Diocese of Long Island by clicking here.

Contact The Rev. Mary Cat Young and see where and how members of Canterbury Downtown are being a part of the action. <chaplain.nyc@gmail.com>

Donate items such as water, warm clothing and blankets and non-perishable food items at the Church of the Ascension (5th Avenue and 10th Street) or St. Mark’s in the Bowery (2nd Avenue and 10th Street) Episcopal Church collection sites.

Learn more about delivering needed supplies directly to people in Manhattan, or longer distance volunteer opportunities by contacting St. Mark’s in the Bowery.

Encourage friends and family in other places who wish to lend support to offer prayers, and donations to Episcopal Relief and Development http://www.er-d.org/ which is providing resources to area churches and volunteer groups to assist with the major relief efforts taking place.  Donations to the Red Cross are also of significant import.
